Welcome to the Bolton Primary Headteachers' Partnership website.

Our new partnership arrangements have now been in operation for 2 years. At the request of Heads we have now established this website dedicated to the Partnership and its links into the many partners of education.

The Primary Partnership is an effective influence on the education of Bolton's children via the many strands into policy decisions and geographical issues within the town. As such, it is important to recognise the following successes:
Bolton Primary Headteachers' Partnership - Committed to Educational Excellence in Bolton

  • A working relationship between secondary school, special school and primary school Headteachers.


  • A co-ordinated relationship between the consultation groups brought together at Joint Executive with input from Assistant Directors in addition to the Director and Deputy Director at each meeting.

  • The establishment of the Partnership Board. It has been agreed that the Joint Executive will essentially become the Partnership Board with additional membership from elected members and governors. Whilst the Partnership Board will be part of the Learning Town organisation it will essentially operate on behalf of schools and will not have a large membership. This could be very beneficial for schools in Bolton.

  • The work of the Consultation Groups is now becoming very focused and co-ordinated.

  • Influence of partnership is very real and is becoming even more effective because it is cross phase with many of the wrinkles ironed out before views are discussed with the LEA.

This website is intended to give information to Headteachers about the operational structure of partnership and the part that we all play.
